Took a guy out from another forum and managed to find some fish. First ones that I have heard of being caught on a fly rod up here although I am sure there have probably been others. Looking forward to seeing what this season brings!

Not big, but lots of fun... Team Dallas didn't bring the CCA Interchapter Challenge cup home, but had a great cups of days

Pure elation as a sea monster goes on a blistering run... Notice I did not reference a species, I only got back to my fly line (about 80 yds into my backing) when he came off. We think it was a black drum at least 30lbs, or maybe a big red. My Tibor got something in it and the drag knob completely locked, freespooling, so I put the 8 wt Xi2 up and went to my backup BVk 7 with Ross CLA 4 (newfound respect for the CLA, what a reel!). The difference in lifting power between these two is astounding, love my BVK but I was way outgunned against this fish. We did everything right, and it sure was fun, but the Big One got away on this trip...

First saltwater fly fishing trip. Went with Capt. David Edens (orvis guide) from St. Simons Island Georgia. Caught one red and can't wait to try again sometime. Great experience!!
