Default The blitz that never happened

Slipped out this morning at 4:30 for a few hours before work. Bait everywhere but they were as happy as can be, not a care in the world. Thousands of Bunker swimming around with nothing eating them
I finally broke down and live lined one of those bad boys down just to bend a rod. Not a fly rod fish. Hope you guys can forgive me, sometimes I slip back to the dark side

Nice one! Would have been awesom on a fly rod but still a great catch no matter how you got it. Fish like this is what Striper fishing is all about, it's what keeps me chasing the dream.

Same reason we chase them. Once we started marking fish at 50-60' we had to take drastic measures. This is the tail end of "big fish" season until the fall. The water temps keep climbing, the bite has been shutting down by 8AM.
