I booked a trip with Greg Dini out of New Orleans. It's with my wife & 2 sons. We're getting 2 guides & 2 boats during spring break. We're gonna eat awesome food and night life in New Orleans, then fish in the day.
Both of my sons fly fish the Texas coast with me and have tangled with a bunch of reds here but want to try a bit of more exotic local. I was born north of the Mason/Boudreaux Line in Shreveport but have strong roots in So LA.

Louisiana Redfish Video
These videos rock!!! Check out the redfish/marsh fishing. Get a good solid 8wt, Salt water taper, with beau coup of flashy redfish flies (flashbou, chatruese, Maroon, yellow, red, think gaudy). Their leaders are simple and tackle solid.
Note the distance they are casting or better stated how short much of the casting is. Accuracy is the key with redfish not so much distance. Let the guys at the fly club brag about 100ft casts. You'll catch plenty with 20-60ft casts. Practice precise casting in your yard or local pond. Try with the wind in your face.
You'll love it on the South Coast. Best food in the world.
