Default Redfish in Venice Louisiana....need some referal(s)

I have fished Venice LA twice, and the fishing was good, but not spectacular. I think it was due to the guide not being a fly fishing specialist more than anything. Subsequently, we jumped over to Cocodrie Louisiana, and have been going there for the past 4 years. The fishing is great there and the guide is wonderful. So why my question?

They say that variety is the spice of life, right?

We are booked for a week of fishing this June in Cocodrie, and would like to make it a two week trip. Is there anybody out there that can recommend a fly fishing guide in Venice? I know there are some, I've seen their advertisements....but does anybody know of, or has any experience with any specific guides? PM me if you would rather not post names publically. Thanks in advance!

Any guide you get that time of year should be a local and should know the area better than a lot of the "Florida Guides" that flock to that area in the Fall and fish the same small areas over and over...

So my best guess is, most the ones you are seeing, should show you a good time...

The thing about Venice is it changes so much every single day, one day an area could be 8' deep, the next 2' deep, it's really important to get a guide who fishes a lot, more so than say a guide who may specialize in fly fishing, but isn't on the water a lot...

The only guides I know down that way are booked 2-3 years in advance and only guide 5 months of the year, June isn't one of those months as it's not when you can get the Bull Reds everyone wants these days. So that's about all I can offer you...

I don't know any of the guides, but I grew up in that areas and I prefer to fish during the winter months when the reds move into the marshes.

Fishing the winter months would be my preference too, but as a public school teacher that option is out. We fished with a guy who is renowned as the best in Venice two years in a row, and I can honestly say he knew the water incredibly well, but he knew nothing of how to place the boat for fly casters, or how to maneuver the boat once a fish was hooked. If they are not exerienced in guiding fly fishermen, I'm not interested in fishing with them.

There is a lot of "World Renowned" Guides/Anglers who aren't worth the paper they wipe with...

I know someone down that way whom may be able to give me the info you are interested in, I will ask him and shoot you a PM with what he says...

I don't really know much more about the Venice area than what I already posted...
