Not a fish you want to be skinny dipping near! Seen them blitz and chase schools of bunker (menhaden) by the hundreds up on the beach. They had to send parks dept to clean up the carnage on the beach with shovels and pitchforks there were so many pounders stranded. And what a stink! And no matter what you coat your flys with short of Kevlar they beat the Hecht out of them! Once the blues move in time to pull out the junkie bucktails so to save a couple of good flys. They don't mind was catching them on a Clouser with just the lead eyes and a couple of chopped up strands of hair left on them!

Steelhead are my favorite when I'm hooked to a lively one, brown trout are my favorite when I fool one on tricky waters, rainbows are my favorite when they put on their acrobatic show, brookies are my favorite when I trek up in the Pa Mountains, stripers are my favorite when the peanut bunker would blacken the water, blues are my favorite when their frothing the water and you can smell the blitz from a mile down the beach, hell fluke are my favorite when I want fresh fish for dinner, bluegills are another favorite on a hot summer day. The list could go on and on, as long as the rod is bent and I gotta smile on my mug they're all my favorites!
theboz and surface film like this.

Anything I can get to take on the surface.

From Bluegills to Trout, I love them all!

For me its the one's that are still on the bucket list.

Its all about the romance of the 'uncaught fish', combined with its ability to thrash gear and angler alike. Any fish that can seriously injure the angler deserves respect and adds to the adventure!

Still on the list:
musky
tarpon
permit
a bigger bonefish
a bigger pike
a bigger barracuda
any kind of shark
wiper
striper
grouper
giant trevally

Depends if I'm out of fish in the frdge or not. If not, sailfish and tarpon are pretty hard to beat. Otherwise, blackfin tuna and dolphin are top choices.
