Sinking Redfish pattern suggestions.......

I am looking for redfish patterns in the range of #4 - 2/0 that will sink anywhere form 1-4 feet fairly fast.

I use WF floating line and mostly fluro leader.

Similar to a Clouser, but more of a mangrove muddler pattern.

I do not tie flies so making my own is not an option.

Just get squirt Sinket on the Muddler, no excess weight to heave while casting and it will sink finest kind.

There is gentleman by the name of Capt. Bob LeMay that ties a salty Muddler Minnow with a wire weed gaurd that he says he casts right up into the mangroves for snook and reds. He ties for a few of the south FL fly shops. I doubt that they are available that far north however..

like the look of these flies if its okay to ask hook size can probably figure out size of dumbell eyes also size that seems most effective for weedguard in mono that still lets you hook fish good fixin to start tying up some saltwater patterns thanks in advance

I fish a Redfish Crack fly with good success. Doesn't look like a Redfish but catches them. PM me your address and I'll send you a couple to try. Be fun to find out how they fish in the land of oranges.

Got your address and the flies will be mailed today. I have good luck with them as well as others I know that use them in this area. Hopefully you will also. You may think the hooks are a little small but that's the size I like best. Most people do tie these with a couple sizes larger hook.

Fly line, leader and tippet for inshore
Check out my suggestions with pics about half way down the page for flies. The Mangrove Critter, is a shrimp/crab imitation that like most Borski flies does a great job. The Bendbacks due to hook size and materials sink fast also and are about as weedless as you get.
