Guide advice

What's up everyone. Let me start out by saying I know nothing about saltwater fly fishing, I mean NOTHING, never done it before. Been fly fishing for several years on cold water rivers and creeks. I decided that I need a drastic change in pace so I'm looking at taking a trip to Key West FL to fish some flats. I decided it would be best to get a guide, does anyone have any recommendations or insight to one ? I've researched a few online but I want to hear what y'all have to say about it before I book anything. On a similar note, I'm looking at taking the trip in sept, is that still a productive time of year to fish there ? I've read around sept the tarpon fishing is ok to good but bone and permit are more active. Ill fish for anything, just would like to have a little idea about what I'm about to put myself through. Thanks in advance to any help !

Tom Rowland is your man for KW! Not only is he an excellent guide and fisherman but from personal experience one of the best fly casters down there! If he cant help you with SW flyfishjng no one can!
And still plenty of Tarpon opportunities in September especially in KW!

If Tom is booked when you want to go another option is Derek Rust out of Marathon. My buddy from college used to fish with him when he guided out West and thus how I made the connection. Awesome dude and he really knows the water down there. We fished out of both Key West and around Marathon. He got me tons of shots at Permit which I usually fumbled.

Definitely make the trip. Saltwater fly fishing is a whole new world (and extremely addictive) but you'll have a blast.
