Default Varadero Cuba fly fishing opportunities in August?

So, wife just booked a family vacation for a resort in Varadero Cuba...in August...yes, in just a couple weeks.

I am wondering if anybody has fished...or fly fished off Varadero...and if so, can they talk about opportunities, how they did it (bring your own, shore/boat, fly/spin, etc.), etc.

I have always wanted to fish for tarpon...and bonefish...and permit....though my basic research seems to suggest...not much from 'this' side of the island...and nothing I found talks about AUGUST...January seems the time these articles are written about.

I have a range of equipment I could bring that, based on what i read, should fit the bill. Interestingly, I don't see anybody spey or switch rod using 'down there'....and my 4 pc., 11', 7wt switch is my most compact.

ANYTHING you guys can offer for information is appreciated. If you have links to sites or whatever, I have a few weeks. The trip...will be good. FIshing while on the trip...would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance
