Not just Tarpon, but BIIIIG Tarpon on a fly rod, from a float tube. I would never have thought it would be possible without seeing it with my own eyes, still unbelievable, but really, really cool!

I can't belive the excitement, fear, and joy you're experiencing when you're just a couple of feet from a jumping tarpon... in a FLOAT TUBE! Amazing!

Here's a still from the last second of that DVD preview. Jan Kristensen said he and Daniel Goz were camped out for weeks on remote river banks with no conveniences making that DVD. He put up a number of pictures on the sexyloops website. Sounded like a great trip.

Right now would be a great time to fish like that in the the Glades as the big tarpon are thick there now. The salt water crocodiles are making a big comeback throughout that area, but are shy and haven't eaten anyone yet. Of course, I've never seen anyone float tubing there either.

Unfortunately the water is black, and filled with very large bull sharks after the tarpon who are after the mullet. According to one of the glades researchers, he thinks the little bulls he's tagged to about 4' - 30 miles or so into the glades fresh water - head up there to escape becoming fodder for the big sharks this time of year.

I wouldn't recommend float tubing the river mouths or bays there unless escaping from an axe murderer. But it's great tarpon fishing there from a boat until the first cold nights chase them all away.

Cheers,
Jim
