LOL,
Gary
I broke my shoulder about five years ago. Also had rehab exercise, took me about 4-5months from not being able to lift my arm, to casting my 12 weight chasing Tarpon.
I'm sure you will upgrade to a 8' #3 in no-time;-)

Ok, seriously if I were to name 5 top choice Bonefish flies, I would say:

SimRam size 10-2
Tan Puff size 8-4
Turneffe Crab size 6-2
Bonefish Bitters size 10-6
BahamaMama size 6-2

All patterns in different colour variations, and also with RUBBER LEGS!
Anything with rubberlegs will catch a Bone.
When tying flies I try and make variations of patterns, rather than exact patterns. It is also important to do variations in weight. I believe that at the end of the day colour and weight is more important than the pattern.

Tight Lines!

Some of my favorites are personal variations on other flies:

Big Ellie - Like Aaron Adams Big Bone but with Brown grizzly hackle and orvis' barred bunny.

Bunny Gotcha - Same as a Gotcha, but with bunny instead of craft fur.

Crazy Sophie - Like a bright pink charlie, but with a pearl flash tail, grizzly hackle and calf tail wing

Simram - Does anyone have a recipe for this fly. I use some tied by a guy we met in the Bahamas, but can't find a recipe.

Plain Ole Gotcha- White body, beige wing

Bones in Abaco and Andros seem to like anything with rabbit fur

Hi Mon.

Here's a video of a Simram variant.
Fly Tie Simram Variant ( fly tie ) video clip
I usually tie it without the orange, use splayed grizzly hackle in addition to the CraftFur, and add three pairs of rubber-legs.
Works well in Creme, White, SpeckledBrown and Tan. Up to size 1.. Big heavy ones for big heavy Bones in Abaco;-)
Click the image to open in full size.
In smaller sizes a rubber legged Bunny Gotcha works just as well as the rubber legged SimRam.
