Re: Mayfly hatch so large is showed up on doppler radar

Oh man. Saturday night my co-worker parked under one of the parking lot lights... I work at a restaurant that's located right along some backwaters of the Mississippi... His car was so caked. ...

Re: Say wot??? $89.95?

Yup. And I'll wait for those guys to resell them for deep discount after casting them once and not liking them. That's how I ended up with a 3wt Airflo Super Dri for $30 shipped.

Re: Pflueger Purist Fly Reel

Most can easily just by reversing the drag plate and pawl. Which involves all of removing two screws. I suggest purchasing an updated drag plate from Bob @ Classicflyfisherman

Re: Laces vs BOA

Laces. You're basically SOL if your boa system breaks in the field unless you carry an extra set with you.

Re: Pflueger Purist Fly Reel

If you find a medallist selling for the same price as a purist... You better buy the medalist... The two don't even compare...

Re: My electric shaver is 'toast????'

I have a Norelco. Even has as a pop up mustache trimmer. Think I bought it for one shave. If anyone's seen a picture of me in the last decade they'd know I have no need for it. You're welcome to it.

Re: 12 wt for GT and tarpon

I have an old Fenwick that'll handle a 12wt line ;-) Unlikely to break either unless it gets ran over by a steamroller haha

Re: Found another rod I didn't even knew I had.

It's not a leader for casting... More like a lob... Line wouldn't even leave the reel

Re: Found another rod I didn't even knew I had.

11' 2/3 likely wouldn't be cast... As you stated it's basically a small stream high sticking rod... I'd go with some random dt3 and attach a long leader to the end... Something around 15-20' straight...

Re: Places that are world known... but lame?

The trout barely reach 6" in the Driftless and careful if you pee in the creeks you'll make'em flood. No reason to ever fish here. Go out west... shadow casting isn't nearly as cool looking when...

Re: Rio Camolux Int or Cortland 444 Camo Int?

Line both up... Sell which ever you don't care for... Either line should resale... Or line up the camolux first and try it on your 4wt... Chances are if you like it in 6... You'll like it in 4 and...

Re: Cabela's Wind River Fly Reels for Boy Scouts?

Any plain ol clicker reel is plenty for trout and panfish... Disc drag is more power than you'll ever really need... Cruise eBay and by a couple vintage reels that'll cost $10 shipped. It doesn't...

Re: Exclusive Tmart Giveaway for the fly-fishing Forum

I find it funny how the "waterproof" bag is under water and open... Not so waterproof when it's not closed

Re: Nymphing vs. Snagging

Snagging happens. There's not much that can be done about it unless you become the perfect angler... And I bet you even Lefty snags a few still to this day... As long as its not in their gill plate...

Re: Pike Fishing Question

I've caught plenty of pike on 5wt... Not that I was targeting them... But they do love white buggers and smaller red/yellow/green clousers

Re: Cabelas CGr rods coming back ?

Oh man. This is awesome. Hope they fitted it with proper eyes and tiptop this time. I'm definitely looking forward to the 7/8 and then wait until they receive the 50% price cut to add the rest :-D
