Re: South Central Alaska Sweltering in Heat!

Hopefully the rain keeps coming when it starts and continues so we can fish where we originally planned next month. I'm still looking forward to spending time with you, Nancy, and of course, the one...

Re: North Fork Composites - or other 8wt?

Anything he produces is good. If you 'Friend' NFC on facebook I believe they are still offering a boatload of blanks at half price. I think they are blowing stuff out right now to help finance a new...

Re: Dec Hogan 2Handed Rod Casting Classes.

Hi, Jim,

He's been a big help for me and my 2Hander casting. I still have much too learn, but, I'd be happy to cast with you sometime. It's nice having a Guru around like Dec. I try not to be a...

Re: Single hand rod skagit grain weights

Don't mean to discourage you either, well actually yea, I kinda do. I'm just of the belief that if your gonna do 2Handed casting it needs to be done with a true 2handed rod. We all have to follow our...

Re: Single hand rod skagit grain weights

Why not get a 2Handed rod that's better suited for the task? I've tried the single hand Skagit thing and it's not near as fun, and requires too much effort. This type of casting should be relaxing.

Re: Single hand rod skagit grain weights

May I ask what the conditions are where you'll be fishing, and what your fishing for?

Re: A Griz human encounter that went bad....

I think some of the backcountry roads are getting just as dangerous. We were supposed to fish with dean mt today, but weren't able to make it, so instead we took a drive over Skalkaho Pass, it's a...

Re: How big a rod for streamers?

I'd figure a solid 8 wt would work, but just as important to consider is the line and taper. You need a line that has some good mass in the front end to help control and turn over that dead rat your...

Re: Park City, Utah

Yup, join the crowd.

Though I rarely fish with an indicator and nymph rig anymore, I will say that rig is like using a fish vacuum. Now, swinging a soft hackle is more my kinda fun, 'specially...

Re: Park City, Utah

C'mon Stenny, you gotta include Western Rivers as being a good shop!;) Nick Teynor, and Matt Drahos, but Matt has headed off the grid to Alaska for a while. Still a great shop though.

We'll be back in the area to do some bear watching. I looked at the oars and blades, they do look nice.

Re: Senator Requires?

All my info was given to the site doing the petition, the Senator asking for my information was added afterwards and I didn't give him anything willingly.

You know what folks, I wasn't going to...
