Re: Dream Stream Guides

Anglers Covey in the Springs has a world class guide list. Robert Y. would be my pick if I wanted to be schooled on the Stream of Dreams (or nightmares)

Re: Deckers 9/20/14

Yes, this is the Deckers Way, so the only advice I can give is get used to it.

Best to move on, there's plenty of great access on this river.

What goes around comes around, that's what I think...

Re: On places like the South Platte, would you say...

Thanks for all of the replies folks... been in NYC all week for work and forgot I had posted this! Always interesting to see what others think as I have a tendency to be more aware than most... (some...

Re: On places like the South Platte, would you say...

@nickj, thanks for your honest remarks, interesting for sure. I've made it a point to focus on this fishery for many reasons, and one of them is exactly this. Call it a social experiment, or one of...

On places like the South Platte, would you say...

- Some folks have a certain level of disdain for the masses?
- Are the seasoned veterans ticked off at the lack of etiquette from those new to the game, and less likely to be friendly?
- Have you...

Re: Stimi colors?

@planettrout: Greg isn't at Charlie's anymore, he's now at Anglers All. Great guy.

Make them as obnoxious as possible, it's called a stimulator for that reason :D

Re: One day to fish out of Denver...advice

I'll chime in and say don't bother with Cheesman / Deckers area until the flows go down below 300 - in all seriousness, the fishing is really mediocre at best. I went yesterday to challenge myself...

Re: Blue River Colorado Float Trip

Yes a GoPro - funny thing is, we had one, but when my buddy got home, none of the footage was there - corrupt card, batteries, who knows. I think he was able to salvage some of it at last check.

Blue River Colorado Float Trip

Last Sunday, my buddy and I decided to float the Blue River from Silverthorne all the way to the boat ramp on the west side of Green Mountain Reservoir. It was quite the 'adventure' to say the least!...

Re: How does hot weather effect trout?

One thing to remember right now with the dams spilling over is that warm water on top mixes with the cold bottom effluent and can raise the temps significantly. Thermometer is an angler's best friend.

Re: Artificial Flies and Lures Only

In regards to the density of CDOW rangers, it's pretty slim. And there's a lot of ground to cover. I suppose the best thing to do is connect with Operation Game Thief when you can. The problem is...

Artificial Flies and Lures Only

With the sheer amount of littered foam worm containers on the banks of our Gold Medal streams here in Colorado, makes me wonder what is happening in the minds of these people? Oh wait, nevermind....

One of THOSE days!

I just wanted to share this with you so badly, because I am certain that most of us feel the same way after a disastrous day on the water.

Today I took the day off and headed to the Blue River...

Re: Bad Day at Dream Stream

One sage piece of advice I've learned on these tailwaters is the fish are spooky as hell after a flow change in either direction. There have been times on the Cheeseman section after DW bumps or...

Trout Identification - from Bear Creek, Colorado

Hi All;

Recently I caught this small 7" what I assumed to be a greenish-tinted rainbow from Bear Creek near Idledale.

Re: Little tricks to share

This is a great idea, however, I have heard that fly tying wires have a coating applied to prevent oxidizing. In a humid environment, pure copper might turn green rather quickly. Just an observation!

Re: Saratoga Wyoming info needed.

Too bad the old GRMO (Stoney Creek) guys shut down the shop. Shilo used to rent out a house in Encampment that I've stayed at a few times. Might be worth a call. Closer to Hog Park!

Re: Current conditions on S. Platte in Deckers, CO and the Blue River

The boys at Deckers are probably having a tough time with clients with those flows, although a client willing to hoof it into the Canyon would enjoy that. The Cheese at 550 is doable, just have to...

Re: Current conditions on S. Platte in Deckers, CO and the Blue River

biscuet asked:

It is, but there isn't much real estate on the edges of the river. Additionally, it drops off real quick so a misstep could send you to Green Mountain.
