Re: New reel choices....help me decide!

Nothing wrong with starting with an inexpensive reel. For many, many years I considered them as line holders, drag was unimportant, never put many fish "on the reel". With the advancement in light...

Re: Intercangeable Sinking tips

Interchangeable tips are a great way to go. I use them all the time. Great for streamer fishing.

They are not hard to make yourself. I have them from 18" to 6' in fast sink and ultra fast sink....

Re: Beginner Trip Advice for Montana

I would second the nod for the Big Hole. Water will be high, but the fish do not care. The salmonfly hatch brings the big boys out of hideing and the fishing can be spectacular. I hit it every year....

Re: Introducing myself from PA

Howdy FlyChick;

Re: caney fork river in tn

troutguy07;

Most fisherman wouldn't tell their mother where the hot spots are, let alone alert the internet where they are.

The best advice is to go into a local fly shop, ask advice on flies...

Howdy Flityer;

Welcome. Nice to meet an honest man. Your statement about the constant learning process is right on.

BigCliff I hadn't heard that one. With Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) as an owner he could buy ALL the radio stations and convert them.

Re: You have $1.5 Million

I'd give the money to my wife. I already have my fishing haven. It takes me longer to get ready to go fishing than it does to go.

Living almost anywhere in Montana we are blessed with some of the...

Come on in, the water's fine.

What part of Kansas you from? My grandpa was in NW Kansas (Bird City if you ever heard of it) and he is the one who taught me to flyfish. He always...

Re: Another favorite team thread......

Yes Cliff I have taken a lot of heat for sticking with them. In the not so distant past they were known as the JailBlazers, because of so many on the team getting into trouble with the law.

I am...

Re: Rig advice

There are several methods to do this.

1- Blood knot. A blood knot is strong and secure but not the easiest to tie. Also good for leaving a tag to attach a fly for a dropper rig ( you leave a tag...

Fish are the...
