OK that makes sense; never thought of of it being his name. They are definitely a step up from the Marquis series, no wobbles and such.

Regrets; a few...but hands down the worst is selling a 3 5/8" circa 1980 Hardy Perfect and spare spool with DOUBLE case and CREAM agate line guard in MINT...

That's how I do it William; works very well for anal people like me. I leave 3/16" space from the line to the edge of the spool. :)

The L is for "light"; the L reels have vented reel bodies. There was a vintage reel site that had some for sale a year ago; I'll post a link if I can find it. A sweet 506 just sold last week on ebay...
