Re: Atlantics in Michigan?

They have been planting more of them. I would love to see them in some rivers on the Superior and Michigan sides.

Re: Summer 2014 Brown Trout

Well, I'm glad you like them. That means a lot. Starting to have some warmer weather here now. I know that means NOTHING in the U.P. but I'm hoping for an early spring.

Summer 2014 Brown Trout

I don't know about you fellow fly fishermen, but I'm ready for Spring. March browns, brown drakes and my wader legs covered in black caddis.

We had an exceedingly successful Summer of 2014....

I live in the U.P. of Michigan. I will probably never leave here. But, I did go to Ohio and did hit Steelhead Alley. The fly fishing was incredible. If you actually scout out and explore or have some...

Re: This has been a great Fall.

@ Rock. Thanks man. Yeah we only got a portion of it. We have been lucky down here. If you want to call it luck. The last few weeks of our Fall, were cut right off by the awful cold. I'm going to hit...

This has been a great Fall.

It was a tough year to start with, for myself. The fishing was stellar, as usual. But with a broken leg, hand problems and high water, I still made out ok.

This Fall, the salmon runs were slightly...

Re: My trip to Yellowstone, MT and WY

It's going to get COLD at night, but the scenery, wildlife and fishing will make up for it! Good luck and get ready to barely be able to soak it all in! Have fun!

Re: My trip to Yellowstone, MT and WY

I use a simple Nikon AW100, I think. It's a shockproof, waterproof camera. Nothing fancy and has lighting issues on pictures now and again.

I use a few programs for editing etc. I use another...

Re: My trip to Yellowstone, MT and WY

Thanks! I was beyond amazed at the serene beauty of that area. I almost tried to get a job in Billings, just so I could stay and learn every river. When I traveled into the mountains, I saw NO ONE!...

Re: Rivers near boyne

Honestly, I think their should be bans on all Michigan rivers info on the net. There's too many catch and kill people ruining rivers. We have a rule in the U.P. that you do not mention rivers...

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted here. After the horrendously long winter we had, it's nice to be fishing on a regular basis.

I broke my leg when the snow started melting, making my...

Re: Rod weight recommendation for michigan salmon

I use a 7 weight, but it's a 10 foot. The ten foot gives you better control on your drift and better feel overall. I would suggest an 8 or 9 weight, but try to get a 10 foot rod, which will be much...

I hope everyone is having a great season on the fly. I have been busy beyond belief, but manage to get out on a regular basis. I used to fish 250-300 days a year, but now it's down to under 200. I...
