The word around here is the early signs are not too gloomy...

Re: Not good For Durango Colorado

Update: I just listened to a town hall on the radio and there were really no answers at all about what is going to happen, the main concern right now seems to be public health and safety and whether...

Re: I think 'Winter' has finally reached Southern Oregon.

Fred, it's also winter time finally in four corners. We've really had nice weather with only a few cold days, even ice free fishing last weekend. But we had a small storm go through and this morning...

Re: 2015 Fly Fishing Goals

I'll chime in...Here are my goals for this year's fishing adventures.

1. Fish with my children, not let life or my selfishness detour them from something great.
2. Take more photos, not just...

Re: 3 Kings & A Wet Camera;

I learned a trick on phones that might help in a case like this, maybe for future reference. Once you plunge some sort of electronic in the water and you know it's fully saturated, water has gotten...

Re: Six Footer

I was given a bass pro short rod, I believe it's a white river classic. 5'8" 4wt. The guy who gave it to me liked it but thought it was a little short, I fish with it most of the time. Anything under...

Re: Thoughts on Trout/Salmonfly Interaction?

Good info, not having fished them much and recently having an opportunity to do so I noticed the same thing. Big salmon flies on the water weren't getting looks at all and trout were nailing the top...

My family and I have considered moving out of Colorado for the last few years as well. Eventhough both mine and my wives family have been in southern Colorado for well over a hundred years each. It's...

Re: Hot weather and water temps

Ok, thanks! That's about the same for myself, when the temps hit the mid sixties I spend my time in the high country. With the water levels already so low in southern Colorado, I am worried the temps...

Re: Fish and Fires

The ranch is the Phipps La Garita Ranch, and it has some of the best waters I have ever been able to fish. Bar none. It's not fancy and is more or less a do it yourself kinda thing, but my whole...

Re: Are You Hooked on Brookies?

I'll agree with both newby and Utah Dave, brookies are fun and the streams and solitude make the whole experience that much better. I mostly fish the places the OP talked about, and by I far my...

Re: Small Trout Religion?

For me it would not be small trout religion, but more like small stream (area) religion. When I think of fishing the first thing I think of is being at higher altitude with less people. If I can hike...
