This may be because he is trying to hide the mono tippet. putting mud or sink on the tippet hides it from the fish, but can also sink small flies.

The next best option is clear and clean mono...

Going to do a little Golden Trout lake and stream fishing, 3wt rods are generally the ticket where we are going. I have 2 rods, one is 8'6", the other is 6'.

Funny, I just had a similar dilemna with an intermediate line that did not have a loop. I ended up nail knotting a 1' piece of 25# amnesia to the line and putting a perfection knot in the other end...

Just traded an old RC car for an old fenwick rod and reel

Not asking if it was worth it, cuz, I know the rod and reel will get much more use than the RC car, so it was worth it to me....

Ranger, sorry, I guess I should mentioned rainbows as the target.

A big fish around here, in the lake I will be fishing can go over 20. My buddies and I routinely pull fish between 12 and 16...
