Ahhh, Been there! I compare this to eating ice cream, I love ice cream. I eat it too fast and it gives me a headache......and I eat more ice cream!

Bonefish is correct.

I have a Teton Tioga Magnum, it is a well made reel at a great price, Okuma also makes pretty good stuff but imported. Orvis has a line of Large Arbor reels in your range...

if your ordering it on line order a left hand, alomost every reel can be easily changed to left or right. If your not comfortable doing it yourself any outfitter or fly shop will do it for you

Thats an excelent reminder! I was teaching a guy once and he was having a hell of a time winding in line,I checked out his reel and found he had set up backwards and was winding against the drag wich...

Im one of the wierd as well, Its never been a problem. Ive seen guides and even some of the old pros who do it the same way "cast right reel right" funny thing is...... i play the six string left...

Gotcha, I would suggest saving your money and instead investing in Mel Kriegers DVD collection on fly casting, His stuff is user friendly and easily understood by adults and kids alike, he has DVDs...

Theres lots of resonable stuff out there, Teton makes good sturdy reels, very reasonably priced as does G-Loomis. Some of my most trusty gear is not over the top in price, Ross, Sage, Okuma, Teton, ...

I looked at this gadget on line....not to be the naysayer but in my case I fish everything from a 3wt up to a 10wt, every rod I own has diffrent characteristics and I udjust my casting stroke...

This sounds cumbersome but the night before I go out I take all the fly line off my reel and lay it out in about 4ft loops on my work bench, In the morning before I leave I wind it back on the spool...
