Re: The latest on didymo

I think it's great scientists have been given the time and resources to learn more about didymo and its blooms- it's tough to make informed management decisions without information.

It seems...

Re: Destin/Panama City Area

Not to hijack the thread, but I've also been looking at heading down to the panhandle sometime in the next year, and was wondering about access. Is a kayak or other watercraft basically required, or...

Re: Deer Hair 1st try

If you can do that well using bucktail, deer belly hair should be no problem. I like the looks of that bug, ought to catch some pike- plus the big head tends to push water, a feature many predators...

Re: The best flies I've tied so far.

Nice work, especially with the spun-hair head on the sculpin, that can be a tough technique to nail down. Same with the upright, divided hair wings- it can be tricky, and you pulled it off well. ...

Re: California Fishing Bans

Pretty scary situation, not just for the anadromous fishes but for the unique salmonid diversity in interior streams. Hope it starts raining- and quick.

The Gutless Frog uses foam bent around the hook to create a weedless design...hard to explain, but a quick google search will provide you plenty of examples.

Re: Bad water news in the west

Crazy. I was looking at snowpack this morning and dreaming of a roadtrip out west this summer. It doesn't look good for much of California, Oregon, Idaho and Colorado.

Good luck, guys.
