Re: 5 Weight Bass Flies?

People seriously overestimate what is needed to cast flies. I primarily use a 2wt or a 4wt on bass around me. Today on my 4wt I was casting 4 inch long thick bodied craft fur streamers, as well as...

Re: My new favorite warmwater fly

I know what you mean. I tie them hook up as well and that part is always the most tricky.

Hey guys,

I could use a little help. I recently purchased some of these guides (http://http://store.hookhack.com/Solid-Titanium-Single-Foot-Guide-Nanolite-Ring-ID-306-mm/productinfo/NIRLF05/) and...

I already hooked one carp on this fly. Sadly, it broke off shortly after.

My new favorite warmwater fly

I saw the link below and instantly fell in love with this fly (meant to simulate a damselfly nymph). I found it in my search for new carp flies to use at my local reservoir, but it is effective on...

Re: warmwater pics

I actually made this rod, so I will have to repair it myself. Not sure if I can buy just 1 blank section yet.

The lady watching was definitely confused or unhappy, but not sure why. Here's her...

Re: warmwater pics

My first carp ever! I caught it on a corn fly that I placed in the direction I thought the carp would go. Sure enough, the carp found its way over about a minute later, slurped it up, and I set the...

Re: warmwater pics

I dragged a crayfish fly past it for about 5 minutes, and I could see it getting more and more agitated. I finally switched to black leech (about 2.5 inches), and it struck it on the first pass. I...

Re: warmwater pics

Caught my personal best largemouth today. I know this still can't touch what you southern boys can get, but up here in MA this is about as big as they get.

Re: warmwater pics

Caught this on my 2wt yesterday. Have posted it in another thread here to see what species and they said butterfly mirror koi. Wanted to include it here as well once I knew.

Re: What type of fish is this?

Thanks guys. I guess my original thought was true, that the mouth was not one of a goldfish.

Beautiful fish though.

Re: What type of fish is this?

Can regular goldfish really get that big? I would think that smaller pet breeds have biological limitations on their max potential size.

Monster on my 2wt

Caught this on my 2wt yesterday. And people say light rods aren't for big fish. Released successfully back to the wild and saw him foraging for food again minutes later.

What type of fish is this?

Caught this on my 2wt yesterday. I assume its some type of carp or koi, but I'm not sure exactly what. For a minute I thought it may be a type of goldfish, but it has the suction mouth. Anyone...

Re: warmwater pics

Very nice fish. Water is still mostly frozen around here. Another few weeks, maybe a month until its melted and warm enough to be fishable.

Yup, I think clousers will do the trick. Or a couple of these bouncers that I'm fond of making.
