dont skimp on the bear spray. Its sold everywhere. Stretch your neck really well in the morning so you don't get sore from rubber necking at all of the sights. ITs a special place.

Pere Marquette River in Baldwin even closer
Little Manistee River

within some realm of reality we might pick up a used RV and tow a small off road vehicle. A 2 door jeep would be perfect or the like. If money were no object a nice restored 60's Toyota Land...

Mostly from my point is good though. I fish mostly alone or with limited intel. this will help me to new locations and accessible waters instead of guessing.

Even if you don't want to drive you have to hit the AuSable River. Simply a unique experience. The TU books are very helpful.
