Re: How do you deal with...

I can take pushy and rude...being lied to on the other hand doesn't sit well.

Years ago we were packing back into Dead Indian Meadows for a 5 day trip. We were jazzed because there were no...

Re: Keeping hydrated

Every year I hit one of the sporting goods stores in Cody and just pick up one of those heavy plastic bottles with the flip cap on top the built in filter. I don't know the brand, they seem to change...

Re: How do you deal with...

I really don't know how you guys do it. I'd go outta my mind with the crowds you have to put up with. I'm blessed to have Yellowstone so close to act as a huge magnet for visiting fishermen. My home...

Re: Fishing on the Bear Tooth Highway?

I've already admitted I'm not on the lakes up there often enough to consider myself good at it, but....up in the Beartooth I always seem to have luck fishing the inlets way more than the outlets,...

Re: Fishing on the Bear Tooth Highway?

Howdy. All my experience (when it comes to lakes, is admittedly limited) is on the Wyoming side of the Beartooth. I'll spend time bouncing from lake to lake up there while hitting the streams between...

Re: Springtime in Wyoming 2016

Sorry to hear about the Ute invasion down your way.

You want me to send you some of our surplus bears from up in Park Co?

Re: Wyoming in August

"Uncrowded" certainly is a matter of perspective....isn't it? If I run across one other fisherman where I go, I feel crowded....unless I know them, then I feel a little better.

Lightline gave you...

Re: I'll apologize in advance!!!!

This is a 'local event' for me. I won't argue with anyone's position/opinion on this, but I'll add a few things.

Lots of info beyond the local media accounts were released by the Park Co. SO on...

Re: YNP.....Safe Solo Hiking?

There is a 4th....the one where the bear hunts you down as food. This one more often happens mid to late Fall, when they're trying to pack on as much weight as they can before the big nap. Supposedly...

Re: Grizzly attack at YNP

"It'll only get worse. Human population: 7.35 BILLION (and climbing)"

I'm with ya' Chechem! When Wyoming's population broke a half million a few years ago....I wept and took it as a sign of the...

Re: YNP.....Safe Solo Hiking?

Howdy Kevin,
I hunt/fish/play....in bear country all the time, have for many years and many, many times 'solo'. My stompin' grounds are a regular release point for 'problem bears' from other parts...

Re: Opportunities Outside YNP NE's Section Last Week of Sept?

Darkshadow....This isn't the norm on the upper Clarks Fork, but they're certainly there. This was between those two campgrounds I was telling you about. (hope the pic worked...my first stab at it)

Re: PSA: Yellowstone Park is not a petting zoo!!!

Living close to YNP we'd find ourselves going thru da' Park often...by the time my sons were around 10-12 years old they had lost interest in seeing critters along the road and would come just short...

Re: Like most, the Bitterroot is not doing well flow wise.

It's been odd in our area this year as well Fred. The waters in the Beartooth/North Absarokas seem to be wayyy below their historical averages (per the USGS Water Information System) The Clarks...

Re: Yellowstone Experience - Crowds an Anomaly for 2015?

"....said they were on #6 gored by Buffalo"
Your right Waycool, I'd forgot about the one from last week that happened on the North Fork of the Shoshone just outside YNP. The park would't count that...

Re: Opportunities Outside YNP NE's Section Last Week of Sept?

Howdy DarkShadow.
Late September can be awesome fishing in that area. It may just be early fall on the calendar...but in that area it'll be the edge of winter for the critters and fish....they know...

Re: Trip Report: Conejos, Green River, Thermopolis,Cody Area

Sounds like a great trip. That stretch of the Clarks Fork just outside the canyon is my 'after work' water. There's certainly some snaggle-tooth, fur-bearing Browns in that stretch. Next time I see...

Re: Upper Soda Butte Creek Trout to be Eradicated

I have nothing at all 'scientific' to add to this topic...but I may have a pertinent observation to share.

Back in 09/10 Wyoming Game and Fish announced that they would be "killing" all the fish...

Re: Yellowstone Experience - Crowds an Anomaly for 2015?

Gotta agree with you Dean MT. My wife and I were talking about this when I got home from fishin' this morning. We haven't ran the A/C for a few days now, and when I headed out this morning I pulled...
