There are some dam big fish in that canyon. Permit is required. I have fished it many times, but not for a few years. There were trout pushing 7 pounds. Good luck and have a good time.

There is no place like Wyoming. I Know lander well. Great fishing around there. I was born in Buffalo. Learned to fly fish on Clear creek. Great fishing at a very early age. I would fish it every day...

I'd hit Lee's Ferry. White mountains will be frozen or roads closed to many of the lakes. It's snowing there right now. Big storm hit last friday dumped 2+ inches of rain in PHX and its been snowing...

You can go far In Wyoming by asking permission in a polite way. Pick up your trash, and haul it out. Most folks will be willing to let you fish or hunt. :)

You fished some prime areas of the North Platte river, in one of the best times of the year. Glade you had a good time, and got into the fish. Yes you have to be careful of the weather in Wyoming...

The road to the mile will be a big mess after last nights snow storm. With wind blow drifts, then muddy mess when it melts. 4 wheel drive and a winch front and back, you might make it to the mile.

I can tell you thats not the only fish, that big in that river. Thats a nice brown, but there are bigger one than that at both the mile and the reef. Might be a little hard to get to the mile right...
