Re: Trout Fishing in Indiana
Save yourself from glorified ditch fishing in the NWI tributaries and drive a few more hours into Michigan or Wisconsin.
The St Joe has quality smallmouth and steelhead, but it is a very large...

St. Croix Legend Elite Saltwater Fly Rods
Has anyone cast the St Croix Legend Elite saltwater rod in a 6 weight? I've cast the 8 weight with a 250 and 300 grain sinking line. Its a beautiful 8 weight and casts a sinking line quite well. I...

Re: Line for Winston B2X 6wt 9ft
I have both lines for my B2X 9ft, 6wt and far prefer Rio Gold on this rod. Scientific angler mastery trout isn't a bad choice, but for me, Rio Gold is the way to go on the BIIX.

Re: New Sage Line Up for 2013
Moment of silence for the ZXL...........
Sage just lost their best rod at their own hand, after they discontinued the 2nd best rod in their lineup, the Z-Axis.
I'd spend the $$$ and buy a ZXL...

Re: Light salt water reels vs Lamson Litespeed
I'm a big fan of Nautilus reels. The drag on the older FW isn't as strong as the FWX, however; they are both great reels. The FWX is hard to beat for the price, for a light weight, fully machined...

TFO BVK 9', 6 wt and 9'6", 6wt
Wondering if anyone has experience with the TFO BVK 9', 6 wt and 9'6", 6wt rods. I'm wondering if the extra length of the 9'6" rod helps or hinders casting sink tips or full sinking lines when...

Re: Light salt water reels vs Lamson Litespeed
I currently own a Nautilus FW and FWX, but do not have experience with the NV line. How strong is the drag on the NV compared to a Tibor Signature, Ross Momemtum LT, or Hatch Finatic?

Light salt water reels vs Lamson Litespeed
I have a Lamson Litespeed I used on my 6 weight. The drag system in a Litespeed is upgraded in their #4 model for a 10/11 weight rod. The same drag is in the trout weights all the way up to the...

New Spey versus a New Single Hand NRX
So I'm at the point where I want to buy a new rod. I'm looking at a 7 or 9 weight, single handed NRX versus one of the Z-Axis spey or switch rods.
I'd use the single handed rod for lake fishing,...

I am tempted to start streamer fishing with a spey or switch rod, just because you can get so much more distance with a weighted or unweighted fly while lake or large river fishing. The Z-Axis rods...

I think the ZXL is the best rod that Sage makes. A Winston WT doesn't need boron, and a ZXL doesn't need Generation #+ or Konnetic Technology to make it great. It is already a fantastic fly rod. ...
