Re: american made rods under $300?

You bumped a three year old thread to post that? Seriously?

Re: WTS Redington Predator outfit

I believe it's all SPF. I forgot to edit my original post to reflect that.

Re: WTS Redington Predator outfit

I think I have a buyer for both of the reels, lines, and flies, but I'll let you know if that deal falls thru.

WTS Redington Predator outfit **SOLD**

***SOLD***

As much as I like this setup, it just doesn't get used enough to justify keeping it.

Re: Reel for 3wt rod - Got suggestions?

I have that same rod with a Pflueger Medalist 1492 and feel that it balances well. I also like the way the little Medalist complements the the classic looks of the CT.

I know it's not a fancy or...

Reduced!!

I'm swapping out all of my reels for Pfluegers, and these two reels are the next ones on the chopping block.

The first reel is an Okuma Magnitude ML 5/6 magnesium fly reel spooled with Rio 20#...

Re: Need help choosing a 3 weight. (TFO Vs. Gremlin)

I had typed out a long response regarding Gremlin rods, but lost it trying to run the spellchecker.

Basically, I bought the two-piece 7'6" 3wt and it showed up with bad cork. They were quick...

Re: Albright A5 help needed

With a warranty like this:

Why would anyone buy a rod from them? Basically, the warranty is only good as long as the rod is bought directly from their site AND is still a current model. Once...

Re: Redington CT (Classic Trout)

Surprisingly, there's only .075 oz difference between the two rods. Her casting difficulty with the CT is most likely the result of the difference between the fast-action of the BIIx and the more...

Re: Redington CT (Classic Trout)

Have you ever used a standard production rod that felt like it was made specifically for you? That's the way my 8'6" 5wt Redington CT feels in my hand. It has a nice mod/mod-fast action that...

Re: Southeast Fly Fishing Forum

That's odd, it works fine for me. I've checked it at least three times since 11:30 or so, and it's been fine every time.

Re: Albright A5 help needed

I'm not so sure I'd consider that "failing at a contractual obligation". The OP lost the tip of his rod. How is that Albright's fault?

Re: Looking for Rod #2....

$130 will get you a Redington CT in 7'6" 3wt.

Keep an eye on Ebay and you can probably pick up a used Pflueger Medalist 1494 for about $20.

Save up another $14.50 and order a DT3 line from...

Re: Truck Camping Sleeping Set Ups

When we truck-camp, we usually use a full-size Coleman air mattress in the back of the 'Burb and the boys sleep on twin-size air mattresses in the tent. When we first started truck-camping we bought...

Re: Reel and line for trout?

There's a pretty substantial size difference between the 1492 and the 1494. The '92 will barely hold an entire DT3 or WF4 with a miniscule amount of backing. The 1494 will hold a WF5 or possibly WF6...

Re: Reel and line for trout?

Hard to go wrong with Cortland 444 "Peach" and a Pflueger Medalist 1494.

Re: Help with new rod decision

I have read good things about all of the rods on your list, but the only one I have any actual experience with is the Redington CT.

I picked up a 8'6" 5wt early in the spring and it has quickly...

Re: How many of you have broken rods while casting?

I really like the little rod, but the durability of the replacement tip section will determine whether or not I can recommend it to anybody else.

Re: How many of you have broken rods while casting?

I had to send him another email which he responded to on Thursday. I have to box up the broken tip section, ship it back, and he'll send me a replacement when it arrives. I tried to buy a backup tip...

Re: 7'6" 3wt or 8' 4wt for panfish?

Well, it's been almost 48 hours and no response. I'm going to resend my initial email in a couple hours just in case it never arrived, but I'm not feeling very good about this situation at all....

Re: How many of you have broken rods while casting?

While I agree with most of what you said, I believe products come with an inherent guarantee of functionality for their stated purpose. If a drinking glass (as manufactured) will not hold water, it...

Re: How many of you have broken rods while casting?

I have a Redington CT already (8'6" 5wt) and it's fantastic, but I find that I prefer a slightly faster action for panfish. Maybe a med-fast instead of the mod-fast of the CT.

I've had a little...

Re: How many of you have broken rods while casting?

Fired off an email yesterday afternoon/evening and no response so far. :(

I've already started shopping for a replacement 3wt from one of the larger companies...with a lifetime warranty.

Re: Where are Cortland rods made?

With the Triumph and Premier spinning and casting rods being built on the same blanks, using foreign-sourced components, the Triumph is definitely the more logical choice.

I have a few St. Croix...
