I've always seen and tied eggs on curved scud hook but as you are tying them you can used curved or straight hooks

I tie the shackle tip at the bend and Palmer forward. I don't use any wire rib but like to bury the hackle stem in the valleys of the chenille

scissors = dr slick (for the small stuff) fiskars (for the big stuff)

whip finisher = your fingers. learn to whip finish by hand.

bobbin holder = anything with a ceramic tube
