Converting 10' 8wt rod into switch rod

I have a redington cpx 1084 - 10' 8wt 4piece. It is a very good rod but lately I was thinking about converting it to a switch by changing the handle and butt. I'm checking here to get opinions on...

I actually fish with an 8wt. From out east, I actually fish the surf a lot. Stripers are my favorite to chase. It may amuse you but I brought...

Hey guys,

In my area, there are some places where the only feasible place to fish is from a pier. Some of these piers can be very high up from the water - like 8 - 15 feet above the water. I'm...

Re: Question on putting a loop onto a fly line

This one looks like a winner!

Does it need superglue for the knot?

I want to avoid using any method that requires glue, flame, or anything else besides my fly line and some heavy mono.

Re: Question on putting a loop onto a fly line

Actually that wasn't what I meant :) What I wonder is why I just can't tie the perfection loop directly from the fly line and not have to use mono or anything else at all?

Question on putting a loop onto a fly line

Hey guys,

I've been reading up on the various methods of putting a loop on your fly line so that it is easier to change leaders. I've also noticed that some fly lines come with pre-built loops. ...

In my opinion, Redington has the best beginner combos. They are both on sale for $129

The 5wt is great for trout and stream fishing:

Re: Fly fishing for bass with a weightless plastic worm

Cool. Thanks for the replies. I will check out the worm flies and some of the smaller plastic jig-style worms. I'm aiming for bass in lakes. Will let you know how it goes.

Fly fishing for bass with a weightless plastic worm

Hi guys,

I'm new to this board and have been fly fishing for about 3 months now. I enjoy it immensely. I have been toying with the idea of attaching a weightless plastic worm on my 8 wt rod and...
