Its like crack, once you start running down the gear you just don't want to stop. I remember the times where I would be pissed we were done after 15 days, no shower, down to pasta and rice, squid ink...

I'll use a bit of flash on emergers and soft hackled flies, just enough to look like the shuck separating. Sometimes I tie spinners with krystal flash wings, especially in the smaller sizes.
