Re: Sage SALT

What I find crazy, and perhaps it is simply how I perceive things, we always used to and still do, compare new rods to Sage rods. All of the latest Sage offerings have a beautiful look, fit and...

Sage SALT

Has anyone had a chance to cast and/or fish this rod?

I am curious as to how it compares to the Xi3 and the NRX.

I will say, it is a beautiful looking rod!

NEW Xi3 8 Weight for Trade.....

I have a brand new, never cast Sage Xi3, 8 Weight rod that I am looking to trade.

This rod is brand new, never fished, never cast! It would come just as any new Xi3 would, with the Black Sage rod...

Re: Radian 8ft 6" 4 wt

S&S.....

Just dive in on the "LP"! You will not be disappointed.

The first LP that I fished was the 8'8", 3 weight.

What a sweeeet rod! Accurate, soft tip, powerful butt, just a pleasure...

Re: Loomis GL3 and Pro4X

While the Pro4X may be more budget friendly, when I had an opportunity to cast, not fish, one, I was not impressed. The rod felt heavy, it did not seem to have that nice tip that I like and I simply...

Re: Radian 8ft 6" 4 wt

For this length and line weight, I have two that get the majority of the use:

- If I know I will be throwing dries only, or very small droppers, I like the WhisperCreek GLX

- If I know I...

Re: The Shimano Beancounters Just Wrecked Loomis

After sitting back for a couple of days, here are my thoughts.....

I have been fortunate enough to fish a majority of the top end rods, from most of the major players in the industry over the past...

Re: G.Loomis to Sage?

Well, since I first posted this I have changed from thinking of Sage, to Scott or Winston.

Sage rods are simply too stiff for me.

As for Loomis, I am moving on. It is hard for me to support a...

Re: New Winston.....

Yeah, that is a far cry from the "Green" but I recon its because it isn't an $800 rod. Only other Winston that I know of to be anything other than green was the Vapor.

Abel vs. Hatch Debate

I know in the past there have comparisons and contrasts between these two reels, with Nautilus often thrown into the mix as well.

I have close to a dozen Hatch reels and love them, I really do. ...

Re: Scott vs. Winston

Factoring in finish, quality, feel, fishability, etc., do you favor one company as a whole, over the other?

I hear warranty ducks from both.

Scott vs. Winston

Since I am now looking at these two, I'd love to hear feedback on the rods below. What you like, what you don't like, etc.

BIII-LS vs. G2

BIII-X vs. Radian

BIII-SX. vs. S4 (although the...

Re: The Shimano Beancounters Just Wrecked Loomis

I believe cost of the rods and warranty are the main issue.

I'll pay the high price for a good warranty, for good craftsmanship, for quality components, to deal with folks who know what their...

Last straw for me as well.

That LP is a sweet series, but not for a non-existant warranty!

Re: For SCOTT ROD Fans...

saw that.....

they are sexy as hell. much nicer than the other cane rods they offered. Scott will start making a dent if they keep this up.

Can not wait to see the new "tide".
