Good luck! I remember my motivation, for committing to the fly rod, was being in a boat and watching my friend play tug a war with a 125 lb tarpon!

I have heard, second hand, that a 48 lb brown was caught in the Racine Harbor. Anybody else hear about this?

Larry, I fish the Trico hatch a couple of times a year in MO. I would agree that I don't bother unless I can see them sipping the tiny Trikes. One of the hardest things to do is to thread the eye...

Welcome to the forum! Looks like a lot of advice for the reels. Everyone has their preferences and tastes. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the selections suggested.

Nice brown! I have had some luck with the ehc on that stretch of river with rainbows and browns. The browns really start to kick into their beautiful fall colors now.

I have a 2 wt but have not added a 1 weight rod yet.

A lot of good ideas. I had spoke to my dermatologist and she had prescribed some ointment as well. Not sure the scientific name, but it has helped in comparable situations.
