Re: ** retired! **

Congrats Pocono!

For the three months I was "retired" I found more work to do from the dreaded honeydo list than I did when I actually worked. Funny how spouses do that.

I hope your...

That's kinda a crappy pic but typical of weather here. On clear days, I can see Seattle and the Cascades beyond.

Re: Beginner tying troubles with pheasant tail nymph legs

The other thing that you might be having problems with is running short of PT and getting too close to the thicker butt ends. What you can do in this instance is to tie off...

Re: expensive fly hook replacement

TMC 600 is 3X short, 3X heavy, with a wide gape.

If you don't need a 3X heavy hook, it really opens up the possibilities.

But for a straight up neer 'nuf sub try a Daiichi X510.

Re: Deer Hair

Good first attempt! Did you get the hair all over the place...the bench, the floor, up your nose...it ain't right if you don't you know.

I'm not by any means a good stacker/spinner but I'll try...

Re: How We Smoke Alaska Salmon;

That looks so yummy Ard!

You mention that you let it soak for minimum 8 hrs....what's the max? I like to sleep in so would expect it to be sitting in the brine for 15 - 16 hours.

Also, have...

Re: Nice Wooden Too Box for Fly Tying Storage

I think you'll find that you can't put too much stuff in it and will outgrow it in short order.

I have one similar but the drawers aren't that deep and material keep getting jammed up. I now use...

Re: What size midge?

Chiros in stillwater are typically bigger than those in rivers.

I tie mine normally in 16 - 20 for the lakes I fish.

Re: Orvis Helios Switch 11'/7wt

If you change your mind and keep the 7 and sell the 8 wt, I would be severly tempted.

Re: Easy Material Holder

Need to pick yourself up some cross-lock tweezers in different sizes. I bought some a couple months ago and I can't believe how much I use them.

The front hook gets clipped off. If you look towards the back, you'll notice a trailing circle hook.
