I like the ross gunnisons and cimarrons for their simplicity and continue to be my favorites for trout.

My 6 weight TCR feels like a telephone pole, thats is until I put an eight weight head on a 6 weight versi tip running line....my oh my! Found the launch code. I have not cast the newer...

I have two ross cimarrons (C2's) and they are both durable, simple and smooth. You can find them on the bay rather easily and can get a used-newish one for right around 100.00. They reintroduced...

GL3 imho is a very underrated rod. Good feel and distance. When they list a med-fast action rod the GL3 fits the bill perfect.

Those are good reels and will get the job done. If going up to 8-9 weight you might want to think about the C5/G5 reels. A little bigger, better balance, more backing. They are 4" diameter. ...

I have no idea of the cost of boron or how much it influences costs, but sage, g.loomis, scott, etc don't use boron and they seem to hit the 800 dollar mark......so not sure what to make of that...

They are a joy to cast, can generate added power when needed, and are made...
