im a little late to the party but I also have an 8-6 CT and it is a damn fine rod, i also had a 9' and the 8.5" 5 wts also nice but the 3 wt is just a gem.

this is a 1495 1/2 the ratchet is plastic (black, non metallic) with 4 ramps showing.
so just two screws and flip that ratchet and then move the line guard.
