Re: is Simms insane?

I have two pairs of g4 waders, one pair needs to be fixed.

I also have a G4 jacket that is the best piece of gear I've ever owned and it's, I think, 4 years old now. It has no signs of wear and it...

Re: Sink the drift boat. If you've not been there .. you will.

That picture is from the Queets about 40-50 miles south of the Hoh on the coast. It's very much like the Hoh.
I've got some pictures...

Re: Sink the drift boat. If you've not been there .. you will.

One of the reasons I prefer a raft to a driftboat is they are more forgiving though certainly not a smoother craft to row.

Re: PSA: Yellowstone Park is not a petting zoo!!!

About 20 years ago we had a friend out from Minn. in the winter. She wanted to do some c.c. skiing so we got our gear together and headed into the park.
We drove up to the Soda Butte area and I...

Re: PSA: Yellowstone Park is not a petting zoo!!!

I've seen rangers get seriously angry with people getting close to animals.
In the Hayden valley where we saw the sow with cubs there were three rangers cruising up and down the road moving traffic...

PSA: Yellowstone Park is not a petting zoo!!!

I drove down to the park today with the girlfriend. We saw 5 bears.
Four grizzlies, a sow with two cubs and then another single adult and one black bear.

The second adult was right next to the...

Re: Hoot Owl restrictions July 3!

Yeah, it's a total drag.
This is the earliest I've ever seen closures by about a solid month. The lower Gallatin is already down to 260 and the water temps hit 79 degrees the other day.
The Jeff...

Re: Stickers and your Fishmobile

I just have one Sage sticker on the door to my topper.

I try to leave nothing in the truck worth stealing whenever I'm on the river. The raft trailer pretty much says where I am so there's no...

Re: Summer FF related work in MT

Yeah, he's forgotten me a couple of times. It's always worked out but makes for some "Gee, I hope the rigs there..." moments at some of those takeouts.
That being said, in his defense, he's always...

Re: Southeast Montana help...

There are some trout below the dam on the Tongue, not a lot.
It's good smallie fishing though with decent road access up by the dam.

Otherwise, yeah, the Bighorn.

Re: Backcountry Steelhead and Salmon fishing in Idaho???

I'm just going from memory here, but I don't think there are any tributaries to the Salmon besides the Little Salmon that are open to steelhead or salmon fishing.
There are sections of the Salmon...

Re: Oil found IN Yellowstone Fish

The lower Yellowstone has smallmouth bass, sauger, walleyes and channel cats.
It also has miles and miles and miles of awesome isolated and relatively unused river bottom. It's a freakin' paradise...

Re: Snakes on my Brain

I think it's just that they are very near their den site where many of them have holed up for the winter. Since they are cold blooded I don't see how hanging in a big mass would make them any warmer,...

That baby hog-nose is awesome as well.
