Re: Littleton Co Fishing?

Thanks for the info. I spoke to them today and they recommended Bear Creek as it's not to far. I'm going to stop in on my way from the airport and pick up some flies in anticipation of hitting the...

Re: Littleton Co Fishing?

So I've decided to bring my rod and give Waterton Canyon a shot. I figure I'll have about an hour or so on Wed and Thurs nights so I don't think I'll have time to do a lot of hiking. Where is the...

Re: Even with tying do you still buy?

I just don't get as much satisfaction as I do on my own flies. No other reason.

Re: Even with tying do you still buy?

I never fish a fly I buy or one that is given to me. I only use them as samples so I can tie my own. I just feel "weird" not using a fly I tied.

Those bodies are so smooth. I second the "looks like they were painted on" comment. Great Job :)

Re: Selecting a vice & materials

One other thing, don't be overly persuaded by "true rotary" vise claims. Most people I know who have them don't end up using the rotary feature for anything other than inspecting the fly. I'm not...

I have 7' 5wt Grey's GR50. Bought it due to the need to throw heavier nymphs in the winter but still having to deal with the overhanging trees and brush. I know Greys is not a big name here in the...

What did you like about the Japanese floss that separates it from the rayon (I only have rayon)?

What is the wing made out of?

Thanks for the critique.

You're correct about the strung hackle. I'll give the rooster capes a try. Is there anything I should look for since I'll have to order sight unseen?

What...
