Let us know what the rain does for your creeks this weekend. Heading over there in a few weeks. Hopefully the rain helps to load the creeks.

I've just been using a couple pairs of cheap fingerless "fleece" gloves. One from Orvis I bought for $19 and a 2nd pair from bass pro for about $5. When one gets wet I...

Re: Shoot and Release

His mistake was taking it out of the sky. He should have just got his picture without handling it. It also helps to use Nerf bird shot. Much quicker release.

Re: New Product from Cutthroat Leaders

I have a steelhead trip coming up in a month and have been thinking about jumping into furled leaders. These look perfect for my setup.

Re: Bait on a Fly Rod?

We have an infestation of black crickets in our backyard. I thought about taking a few with me the next time I go out just to change it up a bit.

Re: Bass Fly that mimics a bluegill

I immediately thought that same fly but at 6.50 each I then remembered why I've never picked one up.[emoji4] I've used crystal chenille woolly buggers for bass with success when they were chasing ...

Re: Measuring casting distance

I like the analogy to golf in this thread. For the most part, at least for me, casting for distance is done for fun and I've rarely had to do it for any practical purpose. Usually I'm trying to...

Re: Do I have a 'Mouse in the House???'

I picked up a stacked wood pile from a friend's home last fall and as I was loading the wood I scared out about a dozen or so mice. A few days later my friend's wife told me she found her buckeye...

Re: The rude Alaskans

I don't mind sharing a hole with someone but that's ridiculous. I've only had a couple of bad experiences. One was in Michigan the first year I went steelheading. Last fall I was at the end of a...

Re: Stinky Waders

I hand wash mine in the tub, turned inside out with a mild detergent. It also helps to turn them inside out to dry as soon as you get them off after every trip.

Re: For the men who have small children

I feel for you. I've got a 9 year old, a 7 year old and a 6 year old. I made it out about 3 times this spring steelheading but only because I skipped work for the day and got back before the kids...

What knot are you guys using on your tippet rings? I started using tippet rings last fall using improved clinch knots and am wondering if a different knot would be better?

Re: So you caught a sucker/fallfish what do you do?

I caught my first sucker this spring while steelhead fishing. Nice size to her but didn't fight much. I threw her back, the steelhead were lining up behind her eating her spawn and my spawn fly.

Re: Teaching fly tying to my buddy.

Had to look that one up. From the pictures I found they must have similar lineage. Tucker is half Airedale and half Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. A gun dog breeder in Tennessee raises both for...
