Re: WF or DT on your small creek rods?

I have a 8,6 #5 (which in Iceland is considered light) that I have a Trout LT, DT and I just love that line. Lives fully up to its name of Light Touch, as it almost completely silent. Perfect for...

Re: Waterworks Lamson reels - experiences?

I am huge fan of WL reels. The Speedster looks very promising design wise as it incorporates a narrower spool than usual on a WL. As for the drag, I personally think it is the best there is.

Re: Distance line

I've had great experience with RIO Outbound and I'm sure it would fit great for freshwater fishing for that TFO.

Re: Lamson 2013?

Indeed that reel fascinates me more than any other, as it quite the break from the norm. It's still LA and that's sort of best of both worlds. Bit like the Sage reels.

Lamson 2013?

So...W/L officially pulled the wraps of their "new" reels. Although they have been out in the wild for some time, I am curious as to what you guys think, and have you tried any?

I have been...

Re: Winston Biix, Spey

As it turned out. I am quite the bully when it comes to whacking the stick (power application would be english proper) and it didn't suit me as well as I had hoped. I ended getting a Sage ONE (a dark...

Re: Which spey rod? Sage One Vs Sage TCX

I have the 13,6 #8, Sage ONE and I love that machine almost as much as my wife. Maybe a bit bigger than what you were looking at, but suits me fine for Atlantic Salmon. It's a powerful rod when it...

WTB: Waterworks Force SL 3X Spare Spool

Title says it all. If you have one too many, I would be happy to take it of your hand. For a reasonable price.

Re: If you could only have one fly rod?

Considering I do a fair bit of Atlantic Salmon & Sea Trout, I would try to choose between my 796 Sage One or 8100 Sage One. The 8100 does a little better job with the riffle hitch. But I have to say...

Re: Fast(er) action 6wt for someone who fishes med-fast rods

I personally love the Sage ONE. It feels stiffer than the VXP, but once u
You get used to it, it absoloutely fires like a rocket and is delicate upon demand. Especially the 6 & 7 wt's are fun and...

Thanks for your post Ard, very much full of reason and perspective. I'll admittedly hold up my hand and grant you the fact that, of course, my post was in frustration and not without reason. As I...

Re: Terrible Customer Service from Versitex (Gudebrod Supplier)

Ooooh, I'd be quiet about that. It appears there is some censorship going on in this forum, as I tried to vent my frustration at being ripped of by an online retailer, and eventually the thread was...

Re: ASF Salmon Report - "If It Rains They Will Come..." Aug. 16, 2012

The situation is pretty much the same in Iceland. Catch rates at about 20-40% on last year in most rivers, as is. Hopefully it will rain soon.

Re: Cabelas L-Tech, any owners/experience?

@gatortransplant It sure is a tempting offer, sake for the fact that it is become somewhat expensive up here in Iceland. I try to go myself 1-2 times a season, and my middle-class salary affords my...

Re: Help me find a new reel for a Sage VXP

For 350 you can get your hands on pretty much any reel you want (almost). The VXP is quite light, and has a deep smooth action, so I would reccomend a Waterworks/Lamson or Ross EVO LT. I personally...

Re: Rod transportation

Ive travelled with my rods on the car for days on end, left them outside in the rain, sleet & snow, overnight and what have you. They might be expensive, but they are built to get wet & dirty. If you...
