Re: 1 weight

I ordered the rod from Orvis on sale. I just don't have the time to consider rod building.

Re: 1 weight

I ordered the 7'6" 1 wt. I'm just not into shorter rods. Hopefully it's the right decision, if not I'll get the 6 footer.

Re: Orvis Superfine Touch: What size?

They both have a place in fishing. I'd keep them both and use them. I have a 9ft. Z-Axis and a 9ft. Superfine Touch in 4 weight and neither is going anyplace except fishing.

It's ranch land that is more suitable for antelope hunting than fishing.

Re: Fly reel drag stuck! Any ideas?

I'd drop it in some penetrating oil and let it soak overnight. Gently tap the binding the next day a few times and let it soak a few more hours. Do some more taping and see if it loosened up. If...

Re: Orvis C.F.O.

I'm going to pick one up in size 1. I'm pretty sure I'll go ahead and pick up a Superfine Touch, 7'6" in size 1 just in case the C.F.O. doesn't go with the 2 weight. Another night to think about...

Re: Small stream rod

That's a big range on size. Considering the stream size and the 10 pound size, I'd go for a 4 weight. Good luck since I know for myself it's a coin toss on rod selection in many streams.

Weather break

Although we have a small 20% chance of rain, it feels great outside. It's fishing time to go check out a small stream that I've never bothered going
into because of all the overgrowth of Tag...

Re: Streamside disposal of mono/floro?

A sandwich size zip lock bag works for me. It's also big enough to pick up other peoples line.

1 weight

I'm trying to decide on which 1 weight Superfine Touch rods I'll be buying. I'm leaning toward the 7'6" one weight over the 6 footer; but, I'm still not sure. Any thoughts on it?
