Re: Time for Trout Porn......

Thanks for all the comments! The Eastern Sierras are a pretty sweet place. Hard to believe it's only a few hours north of 20 million people.

Time for Trout Porn......

I enjoyed some back-to-back trips to the Eastern Sierras in the last couple of weeks. Found some eager bows, browns, and Goldens. Also found some epic scenery, food, and brews. Here's a few shots of...

Re: Going Local

Haha. True, I should take a drink of 'shut the eff up' given that it's shut down for many in the northern areas. That's one good thing about living down this way. Fall and winter is prime time.

Going Local

Jumped onto a local water I seldom visit because, though it's only 8 miles away by line of sight, it's a 2 hour drive in reality.

Beautiful day with temps in the 70's, water temps in the low 50's,...

What Can Brown do for You?

I had a chance to visit a tailwater where I first learned to cast a fly. It's been a few years due to other obligations, high flows, weather. But this time, everything aligned for a great couple of...

Re: Nice Grayling from an English river

What's that strange predominant color on the banks and trees? All our plant life is brown......

Beautiful fish and location. One day, I'd love to visit one of the chalk streams there.

There's no Place Like Home

I've been fortunate to visit creeks & rivers in the Southern and Eastern Sierras this last 6 weeks as I anxiously awaited for my local waters to cool sufficiently. Yesterday, I jumped out with my...

Re: Where's the Water?

It's actually Convict Creek. As to the trees.... It was humbling. I saw evidence of it earlier in Yosemite when Postpile was still shut down. That did not prepare me for the amount of damage in the...

Where's the Water?

I just enjoyed 5 days in the eastern Sierras where conditions were the lowest I've seen them in 20 years of adventures. We still managed to find cold water flowing, albeit a mere trickle of what is...

Heading out for a 5 dayer in Sept to which I promise...

Re: Sage One 390 w/Sage 4230 reel

Having returned from my Sierra's trip, I'm still very pleased with this set up. Large fish for the weekend was a 22" wild bow in moving water. There was enough backbone to keep its head turned, yet...

Re: Sage One 390 w/Sage 4230 reel

If you want to roll up for a test drive, you are more than welcome. Reyne and Dublhaul worked some runs with it and had some fun.

Sage One 390 w/Sage 4230 reel

After fishing a Sage One 590 on a trip to Colorado last Autumn, I had been saving my pennies to purchase the Sage One 390. On the 5wt, I really enjoyed the accuracy and casting motion of this stick...
