Swinging in the heat

the Rogue Valley has been in the triple digits for the last couple weeks, and Klamath a few degrees less... although the heat has been good for the Klamath Basin swinging im looking forward to fall...

Ard, I have been full circle, although i use lead(ie skagits) in the winter I find my self using scandies to mids more often then not nowadays, as stripping gets old and takes time from fishing.

I can cast my 9' 6wt as far as I can my 10'6" 3wt Echo, but you have to consider the 9' single hander is a higher quality rod also, having better graphite, also costing a tad more.

I have one! It cast the longer 5wt, wf tapers (LTS SX, Delta's and such) well, but honestly, My single handers spey cast as well. The one advantage it has, besides the cool factor, is that it mends...

That's all we usta use on spey rods back in the day! just up line by two and cast enough line to load the rod, you'll find the spot!
