Re: Perfect rod

Use the above tape suggestion, changing it until you've found the shape that feels best to you. Take the rod to a rod builder and ask him to replace the grip with one of the exact same shape and...

If the currents aren't too bad and you can wade closer, use the 7'6.

I got the 904-4 and it's shown me that I'm more accurate than I thought.
This rod is good at 10 feet, 20 feet and 30 feet. And it'll shoot loooong if you do your part.

Re: A Newbie's First Fly Fishing Attempt

Congratulations.

Re: Is this a good kit for a newbie ?

Go to a fly shop, explain that you're a beginner and ask for help.

Now, I've only built a couple of...

Nervous about what?
If you're nervous about not catching anything, don't be.
You'll be outside, fishing. Catching is a bonus.

Re: Good Load Bearing Vest?

I experienced the same back issues as the day wore on.
My solution was a WJ Confluence.
The shoulder straps are foam so they don't just hang off of my shoulders. the front and rear connect...

Re: Set-Up For Bluegills

You'll need to consider the wind and size of flies to determine what YOU will need.
I may use anything from a 6'6" 3 weight fiberglass to a 9' 5 weight graphite depending on where I'm fishing, time...
