Just had another guy eaten in the park..
He was a regular solo walker, didn't leave word where he was going, and took no bear spray...
They've trapped the sow and cub and are waiting for DNA...

That is an Orvis "JamPack", but it comes with cups.....Have to say I do like it.
Of course you could always whip up your own.......
Kayak paddlers foam might work...cut to fit a brief...

I'm less than 8 minutes from water right now..."traveling cuts into fishing time"....not to mention sleeping with the sound of moving water....and having tying space....and ice chests...

I have been using the loop knot to great effect...I won't fish a streamer without one.
Even use them on super small nymphs, although it takes some practice to make micro loops.

The strip set is the fastest draw in the west...point the rod straight down the line.
I also bury the rod tip in the water and keep it there until they are on......

By all means go.....
Get bear spray, and the food canister for the trip.
Counter balance if you hang food, they know how to "untie" the rope if you just tie it off somewhere....

Cochise, it's not extremism in the East from what I hear, with stockers getting plucked from the river as fast as the state can put them in...

Ahhhh..The rational fisherman, truly a rare creature.....
My time on the water has shown this to be a scorned approach...we are see ourselves as a superior, but can't understand why mere fish outwit...
