I sent you a PM about a nice 9wt I found on another site. I believe you would be better off with a 10wt but this 9wt fits your specifications and price range nicely.

I have the Scott F764 and it is a wonderful casting rod. It loads well with a standard taper 4 wt line.

The Pro 4x is only 7'6" which wouldn't equate to being very good for figure eighting fish boatside. You take that out of the equation and you are severly limiting yourself on converting following...

I'm looking for anyone's input who have casted and or fished one of these rods. How well do they toss big stuff? Lifting power with type 6 full sink lines and 450 grain heads? I would use this rod...

I suggest you find a local dealer and go cast as many rods that fit your criteria...oh and make sure a Scott Radian is in the mix :D.

It is a great rod that was relatively fast for it's day with quite a bit of power. Would make a good streamer/ lighter flats/ carp rod.

I owned a legend rod that had the wraps you described. It was an 8/9 weight that I bought in 1992. Overall it was a good steelhead rod.

I fish a 7wt for my smallmouth rod and sometimes use it for carp too.If you throw in small stripers with distance casting into the mix I would lean toward an 8wt. It just has that much more punch...
