Re: The Sexyloops Mobile App flycasting instruction

Seriously? An app on how to cast a fly rod? Maybe if your having trouble you should leave your phone home and spend more time casting. LOL.

Re: Can't compete with Costco: Sage Blowout Sale

Sage still gets my support. I don't blame them, I blame the distributor. Same for Simms.

Re: Looking for a durable wader

I would rather spend more money up front for quality than to be buying the same piece of **** every couple years. That is why I buy Simms and only Simms. I've had the same pair of G3s for years now...

Re: Am I a hypocrite, a little selfish maybe?

Don't make the mistake of assuming the laws in this state keep me from fishing.
I fish plenty. More than most. I know where public access is and I know what private property I can fish. I am a...

Re: Heartache at Deep Creek Lakes in the Winds (report with pics)

Love that place! Spent some time at Windy and Atlantic. Sorry to hear about your fall. To look on the bright side it could have been worse. Nobody wants to be 13-14 miles in the backcountry with a...

Re: How do you bring home the bacon?

I'm a Pnuedraulics Technician. I overhaul and maintain the flight controls for the C-5 Galaxy. Making a mistake at my job can mean one of those big S.O.B's is going to come crashing through your roof.

Re: Cabin Fishing

Looks like a typical river here in Utah, except for the Green of course. I'd probably be lost in your neck of the woods.

Re: Cabin Fishing

I see fish being all over in a river like that. I bet it's not a lack of fish but maybe a presentation or pattern choice/size. Be stealthy around skinny, clear water and fish the pockets and seams.

Well I lived out here just west of the high school for 5 or 6 years but I just recently moved back up to north Ogden. Love plain city though.

Re: Green river trip report

Nice post. Love having that river so close. The lodge also does a Saturday night prime rib special that's can sell out pretty quick. That's if you can pull yourself away from the river.

Re: That big zippered pocket on the back of your fly vest...

Been a long time since I wore a vest like that but when I did that pocket was used for packing full beers on the way out and crushed beer cans on the way in.

Re: Am I a hypocrite, a little selfish maybe?

Thanks Paul! I live in Northern Utah and there are a couple rivers close to me. I primarily spend my time on the Ogden, South Fork of the Ogden and the Weber. When I can get further from home I like...

Re: Travel Rods with 6-8 pieces

I own this rod. I do a lot a backpacking and it is perfect. There IS definitely a need for a 7-8 piece rod. Fits nicely into by backpack or carry-on. I'm definitely not going to trust my $800 Z to a...

Re: Wet wading tail waters?

Down here in Ogden it just gets to dang hot to wader up during the summer months. Soaking in water coming from the bottom of the lake is a refreshing idea when it's 90+ degrees out. I try not to fish...

Re: Wet wading tail waters?

I wet wade the Ogden all summer long. The canyon stretch within a few miles of the dam. I typically wear my waders when I fish the weber and Provo but not because of water temps. If I was up on those...
