Spend the money on a really good 3 season tent, be sure it has a rain fly and footprint. You may want to consider a 2 person lightweight backpacking tent, compare weight to a 1 person. I like tents...

If you have not taken the drive over the Beartooth Pass, I would strongly recommend it. Of course depending on travel plans, you can go out the N. East Gate after enjoying the Lamar...

We have enjoyed DIY trips to MT/WY for 20 years now. Each trip creates lifetime memories, but don't discount the "before trip" research, map review, book reading, forum postings and pre-planning it...
