so i looked back at what pics i have and in 1 of them fished opened its mouth towards camera a bit and you can see the dots easier.
so its confirmed, i'm checking Coney Grouper to my list

Coney Grouper (Cephalopholis fulva) looks to be exactly like it,
they all look a little different depending on the pic, but Coney is the most consistant.

Help identify this fish (grouper?)

ok, so i just got back from Puerto Rico,
added 6 new species to my list, but have not had any luck identifying one of them.

caught on the reef (2-4' deep) im sure its a juvenile, so maybe color...

join the club, i'm leavign for PR this friday for a week as well.
have been searching but cant find anything. seems like on foot DIY option is hard to do in PR, but either way i'm bringing 8wt...

Hey guys, i'm leaving for PR at the end of March and will be there for 8 days. its a vacation / destination wedding trip, but i will have time to fish.

i somewhat recently got Ultralite DD 5000 (for my 6wt, but i'd also use it on 5wt)

all i have to add is that so far its been good.
and if you do go with Ultralite there's still a retailer online...

also one thing guys at the shop mention about my concern with limited backing (when compared to other reels)
is go with Gel Spun salt water backing, thiner dim so i guess it would fit more.

i'll be using Orvis Hydros 3D & Rio 15ft Sink Tip WF6F/3S lines.
