I recently bought a similar kit (I'm also from Canada). I got the Amundson top mountain kit (Top Fly rod with diablo cartridge reel, line etc) got it from a large retailer that rhymes with 'ostco'.

Like what was said earlier, don't be afraid to use a heavy leader/tippet. When Bass'n I usually go with about 7' of 0x Fluorocarbon (it'll handle the odd small pike that comes along too).
