A older made in England St George 3 inch or a Bougle of the same size both lovely reels.I think the featherweight or St George junior may be a little small for a 8ft rod but that's just my opinion.

Never on a fly rod ,but as a young boy I would happily trot worms down a run with just a spool of line a hook baited with worms or what ever grub or insect I could find. happy days.

That's probably the best sage One vs hardy zenith statement I have read to date :thumbsup: could not agree more the Hardy is a better fishing rod than the sage. For the reasons stated above.
