as mentioned before, it's not the rod you have to be worried about when fishing for large spooky trout, it's your tippet. I've seen folks throwing tiny flies to trout using 6x tippet on their 5 or...

I usually fish alone...never with groups...sometimes with a buddy...rarely with two buddies.

there's just something about not having to worry about anything other than what you're doing...
